We had the pleasure of working with one of
the country's most well regarded floral designers for this
real Montana wedding. Ron Morgan, owner of several floral
and antique shops, travels throughout the world and country
in garden club circuits and is wanted by several to complete
their wedding day or party with his gorgeous work. All concepts
and designs were offeredby Ron, while my staff acted as the
worker bees. The bride, a friend and business acquaintance
of mine chose to be married at her families riverhouse along
the Yellowstone River in Paradise Valley, MT. The large entrance
way to the River house was adorned in branches and ribbons
as the guests arrived which were hung earlier in the day by
Ron, Catherine's brother and myself.
Ceremony--The bride wore a gorgeous Vera Wang gown and carried
a modest bouquet of hydrangea, sweetpeas, and antique garden
roses. The groom wore a navy suit and completed the look with
his flip flops! No Boutonnieres for these fellas. The chairs
were set facing the river (set by MPR) with a white umbrella
at each place--"just in case"--great idea Evie!
The archway, made of driftwood was embellished simply, but
lavishly with antique garden
roses, hydrangea, jasmine vines, and ivy--and a surprise to
the bride and groom were two fly fishing poles attached to
the top of the archway.Fantastic appetizers greeted guests
after the wedding as a Jazz band played in the background.
A canopy of trees invited guest to the large reception tent
where each pole was covered in plum branches and the support
poles were covered with branches and flowers--like trees growing
from the ground. The tables were accented with large basket
centerpieces of peonies, hydrangea, roses, lisianthus, sweet
peas and so many flowers we lost count and a flashlight was
at each place setting so guests could find their way back
to the parking area!!! A truly personal and memorable day
for all of us. Thanks for letting us help--to Ron, Evie and
Catherine!!!
