With our families in different locations,
we decided a Big Sky wedding would give us an opportunity
for a weekend of fun. We invited our friends and family
to join us for activities and a true Montana Wedding. Because
we would be planning our day from California we looked to
Leslie to help coordinate and dress up our event. She was
a lifesaver.
Our ceremony took place in Durnam Meadow - which is a patch
of land along the Gallatin River. The meadow was gorgeous and
had an old barn that we used to house before ceremony drinks.
Just as Leslie was
gathering ushers to seat the guests, the sky opened up with
a trickling rain. Prepared as always, the staff of PCW had
umbrellas on hand and we were able to get everyone under the
ceremony tent perfectly dry. As for Mark and I, we couldn’t
have told you if it was raining, snowing, or sunny as we
were perfectly content on exchanging our wedding vows while
getting completely drenched. It wasn’t until my father
summoned us to come under the tent did we realize how wet we
had gotten.
After the ceremony,
the rain let up and a gorgeous Montana sky proceeded to
shine on our day. The guests quickly made their way to
Moonlight Basin Ranch for the reception. Champagne and
appetizers greeted guests as well as a magnificent display
bouquet on the seating card table that was made by Sharon
Lehto, designer. Leslie surprised me by adding peacock
feathers to the arrangement in honor of a silly pet name I
have for Mark, “my little peacock”. Everything from the
atmosphere of the venue, to the gorgeous reception flowers,
music, and food, was absolutely perfect. A well planned day
turned out beautifully and we could not have asked for more.
